Selena + Sean Wedding!

Selena + Sean

A family oriented, thanksgiving monday, breakfast for dinner, kind of wedding.

I don’t know about you, but they had me at breakfast for dinner. Selena and Sean’s wedding day was so beautiful and welcoming. From the moment you walk in the door you immediately feel like family. Everyone was smiling as they rushed around in the morning. There were so many things that stood out at their wedding. Selena had the whole rhyme put together ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe.’ I haven’t heard of the sixpence before but it was really interesting! ‘A silver sixpence in the bride’s shoe is a traditional good luck wedding gesture and customarily, it is the father of the bride who places the sixpence as a symbol of him wishing her prosperity, love and happiness in her marriage.’ So brides that are keeping to tradition look no further!

The rest of the day went by incredibly smoothly thanks to the team at Lynn Fletcher Wedding, The ceremony took place at the First Mennonite Church, close to Mardaloop. The inside was so stunning, built like churches used to be. The processional was lead by their family members, sisters, brothers followed by the entrance of Sean and his Best man, his Father, and soon walked down their Maid of Honor, Selena’s Mom. This was so touching that the people who raised them would be the ones to stand up  next to them as they said I do. Such a unique wedding idea! Not only that but their grandmothers were the flower girls. I LOVED that idea! Selena walked down the isle with her father to the tune of ‘A night to remember’ sung by their friends in a band called Two Bit Bandits. You’ll hear more about them later. The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt with many laughs and giggles. The moment that had everyone going was when Selena leaned into Sean’s microphone on his lapel to say “I do” the way she smiled back at the guests made everyone give a good belly laugh. By the end of the ceremony everyone had their share of tears and laughs they sauntered out and came back in to do their receiving line, they walked up to everyone afterwards they all said their congratulations and away we go!

The reception was held at Aloft Hotels, if you haven’t been here I strongly suggest you check it out! It is incredibly modern in there. The pool room is where the party started! Speeches left everyone in tears, after the bride and groom gave their wedding speech everyone did a shot! Of CEREAL! That’s something I’ve never seen or heard of before, but when you have breakfast for dinner what better way to kick off break-inner…? no? I’ll try harder next time.

Music was lead by their friends band The Two Bit Bandits, they were so awesome! They kept the party alive and jigging all night long! I strongly recommend you check them out for your wedding or next party 🙂

We said goodbye to the newlyweds on their wedding day and on the way home we talked about how great the day was, how wonderful everyone had been. I was smiling the whole time when I was editing their wedding photos. I’m so happy they have them now and can relive their day over and over again.

Erika + Joe Baby Announcement!

Baby Announcement + 3rd Year Anniversary

After meeting Erika + Joe just last year we knew right away that we were going to be friends! These two are so incredibly interesting and always bring something new to us to do for their photoshoots. We were absolutely tickled pink when they asked us to do another anniversary shoot. Then she dropped the bomb of HAVING A BABY! I couldn’t be happier for the two of them on such an amazing journey. I have loved getting updates about the baby’s growth and ideas for names. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this baby will be, he or she has the most amazing loving parents.

Hooey, ok enough of the mushy stuff I think I have something in my eye… The idea for the shoot was all Erika, first location was a farm in Cochrane with all of their dogs! I know from experience that one dog is enough to handle for photos but three dogs! Thankfully these guys were incredibly well behaved and my favourite call back for one of them is “Skywalker” haha! After playing around with the dogs we had the chance to hang out with some pretty awesome horses, they were incredibly tame and very funny to work with 🙂 I can’t wait to do something like that again! We took a short break and headed to Cobb’s Corn Maze just off of 16th Avenue. Although it was pretty chilly that day we didn’t think it would be cold enough to close down a fun park… Sadly we had to re-plan the pumpkin picking for another day.

Round 2! We headed to the Corn Maze again a couple weeks later and had an absolute blast! They picked their plumpy pumpkins and picked out the guts and did some carving! It was really adorable watching these two make designs and carve them out. Next it was time to get a little lost. I have never been in a corn maze and can honestly get lost pretty quickly… There’s no google map to get me out of there… It was so much fun playing in the corn and it turned into some amazing shots.

I was so excited to see their baby announcement the other day and I’m so happy I can finally share more of the photos here on K&E Imaging. Can’t wait to meet the little peanut Erika + Joe!

Another big thank you to Emilia Art Makeup for doing an amazing job

Twins First Birthday Cake Smash!

Twins First Birthday Cake Smash!

*giggle giggle* *Smush* were the sounds made at the cute photoshoot for our friend’s twins first birthday. Their costumes were perfect, the cakes were beautiful, and it was all put together by their oh so caring mother Karma. These two cuties sat down infront of there cakes and, at first, were very confused as anyone would be if Mom put down a cake infront of you at 10 am in the morning. Soon they got over the fear of the icing treats and dug right in!

It was so great capturing the twins, watching them enjoy the cakes and like brothers and sisters do, share each others cakes. Thank you to Karma for choosing us as their photographers for such a special moment and creating a great environment for us to come in and set up a mini studio just for them!

Frank & Marnie Calgary Engagement

Fun & Chic Downtown Engagement Session

What a better way to start the fall season than with a beautiful engagement session with a beautifully vibrant and hilarious couple! We are so excited to share some of the fun details of their engagement session that started in Crescent Heights and we headed into the beautifully renovated St. Patrick’s Island where we were also surprised to see events from Beakerhead! These two made our jobs so easy, they love to play around, laugh, and make jokes. I almost had a hard time keeping the camera steady!

These two love birds and wine fanatics shared their engagement story with us and it is something so magical. Marnie went on a trip to California to see some vineyards and made a stop at their favourite Jacuzzi Family Vineyards . Little did she know that Frank would be setting up one of the most romantic proposals we have heard. He had the staff set up a perfect little table that overlooked the vineyard. He did his best to hide behind people, be secretive texting her travel girlfriend, but Marnie tells us that he could have been walking right in front of her and she would have walked right by him… Once she finally caught on, that was it. He was down on one knee with an incredibly unique engagement ring!

We cannot wait for their wonderful wedding coming up in the spring of 2016. We know their day is going to be filled with the same laughter they showed us on their engagement session

Congratulations Brie & Dave!

Brie & Dave (Dougie) Married!!

Venue : Hull’s Wood Fish Creek Park / The Lake House

Oh boy, we have had some crazy times this summer fighting the weather at every turn it seems, but Brie & Dave’s perfectly pinterested wedding went off without a hitch. We were all watching the weather last week hoping for a little bit of a break in the rain, but that didn’t stop these two from having their ceremony outdoors, they even planned for their guests to have a comfortable ride through the event and provided umbrellas and blankets to cuddle up and keep dry and warm. Luckily they didn’t quite need them. Right as the beautiful Calgary couple were saying their handwritten vows the sun decided to break out of the clouds. To say the least it was magical. Once the “I Do’s” were said everyone cheered (including their ring barer Waldo the dog)

Soon followed our alone time with the bridal party. One thing I can say without a doubt… These guys are crazy! While editing I couldn’t stop laughing and shaking my head a little. This group of people had so much fun goofing around. It made for some great photos thats for sure. We bopped around Fish Creek Park for a while, then it was time to head to the reception. One thing I really adored about these two is their compassion for their guests and their love for the outdoors. The favors were beautiful saplings that guests could bring home and plant in their back yard. A growing reminder of Brie & Dave’s love for each other. (oh I’m starting to tear up now.) Dinner was served after some quite hilarious Emcee-ing by Brie’s brother and then some more tear jerking and belly laughing speeches came from the family.

The night continued to be a blast after the first dance, we watched people smiling from ear to ear talking about how the day went, whispering about who was going to be married next, and being shown up on the dance floor by a couple of 4 year olds… This day was truly amazing and unforgettable.

We hope you enjoy the sneak peek into their wonderful day!

Matt & Cassie – Happily Ever After

Matt & Cassie Happily Ever After – Chestermere Wedding

“No doubt you saw the whole pretty picture in detail. The young prince bowing to the assembly. Suddenly, he stops. He looks up. For lo… there she stands. The girl of his dreams. Who she is or whence she came, he knows not, nor does he care, for his heart tells him that here, here is the maid predestined to be his bride.”
-Cinderella (1950)

As every love story starts there is a boy and a girl, they meet, they fall, in love and right at the end of the movie there is a tear jerking wedding that makes you wish you were in attendance at that wedding! This was exactly how our wonderful couple Matt & Cassie’s day went down, luckily, we were there to capture the whole Disney day.

Inspired by classic love stories told by the man himself Walt Disney, these two said “I Do” with fairy tale romance in mind. Although the day wasn’t sunshine and rainbows outside the smiles from inside the room lifted those clouds up and away! We wish the best of luck and love to you Cassie & Matt! May all your dreams continue to come true as you head forward in your adventure back to Toronto!

Lots of Love

H&B Backyard Ontario Wedding Sneak Peek

Congratulations Blaine & Hadija!

What a whirlwind weekend! K&E headed out bright and early friday morning to fly over to Winnipeg, then a quick 4 hour drive into the small town of Dryden, Ontario to celebrate the union of two wonderful people Blaine & Hadija. The day started with these two getting ready, relaxing, and of course all the excitement you’d expect on a wedding day. These two kept their cool right up to the ceremony, watching these two embrace as husband and wife give you the butterflies!

The rest of the night was magical. The setting was at Blaine’s uncles yard set in a beautiful tent where family and friends mingled and shared an incredible pot luck dinner. We learned so much about these two from family and friends. You can really tell these two have a passion for family and a passion for everyone in their lives. Everyone there had changed their lives for the better in some way. Congratulations Adam & Jessie!

Adam & Jessie Chic Wedding in Calgary, Alberta

What a better way to kick off our wedding season here at K&E Imaging than an absolutely stunning chic wedding here in our very own city. You may have caught a glimpse of their engagement photos just last month but now we’re here to celebrate their big day! We couldn’t have asked for a more loving couple, a more loving family, and a perfect sun shining day.

The morning was all a buzz with the bridal party checking in on each other, helping each other out, putting every detail into place, and making sure their bride and groom were taken care of. And with everyone on board everything went off without a hitch. We zoomed to our first look location at the Sailing Club in South Glenmore Park. Boys were lined up perfectly. The girls dresses swooshed behind them as they hurried into position, while our excited Adam stood at the end of the dock waiting patiently for his lovely soon to be bride. I’ve never seen smiles so large they actually went ear to ear. We soon moved around the city into Inglewood to do some more formal photos with the bridal party. The limo ride all you could hear was champagne bottles popping! We then headed to Alloy Restaurant where the ceremony and reception would be held. Luckily the rain held out for us the whole day, the Ceremony went off without a hitch, there were many tears, laughs, smiles, hugs, and of course that epic kiss after saying “I do.”

These guys know how to throw an epic celebration. The tables were perfectly decorated, food was incredible, and at the end of the night you could leave with one of their hand made lollipops!

Once the music started there was no slowing down from there. The Bride and Groom kicked it off with a beautiful choreographed dance to Ingrid Michaelson’s – The way I am  that blew everyone away. Soon after that the dance floor was open to everyone! We saw some pretty epic moves. Might have even logged some into our own repertoire.  The guests also got to enjoy a photo booth set up by yours truly.

It was a truly amazing day and we couldn’t have asked for a more lovely couple than these two. Thank you Adam & Jessie for letting us into such a special day, our lives have been forever changed knowing the both of you. We wish all the best in your marriage and future endeavors. We already know you’ve accomplished great things. We can’t wait to see what you do as a married couple.

This family is so magical! These girls have such a special aunt. She has amazing ideas and this is definitely one of them! We have been talking and planning this shoot out for months and when it came together everything was absolutely magical. All the perfect items in place, tea, pie, magic, and of course cupcakes! We were all on a bit of a sugar buzz and smiles were on full!

Amazing job Erika. We were truly transported to somewhere incredible.
